Bill Brumsted
How I got here:
I spent eight years as a rowing coach at my alma mater and enjoyed the process of helping athletes achieve their academic and athletic goals. I became interested in macroeconomics during college as the Great Recession began unfolding during my freshman year and was often a topic in my undergraduate studies. Fast forward a decade, I purchased my first home just before the pandemic and became increasingly in tune with not only my personal financial situation, but also how macro level events make an impact at the micro level. I have since joined the team at Rockbridge where I feel I can combine my desire to help others with my interests in personal finance and macroeconomics.
Favorite part of the job:
I like working with a group of intelligent and passionate people who are also eager to help those in their community feel more confident about their financial plans and futures.
Experience:
After graduating from Cornell University with a BA in Government, Bill spent eight years as a rowing coach at his alma mater, helping Big Red athletes achieve their academic and athletic goals. He became interested in macroeconomics during his undergraduate studies as the Great Recession unfolded during his freshman year. His interest was piqued again after purchasing his first home just prior to the pandemic, when Bill began to focus on how macro level events make an impact at the micro level. Bill is an avid endurance athlete (running, cycling, rowing, swimming) and passionate outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, and hiking throughout the Finger Lakes and Adirondacks.
